Is it time to replace your windows?
Great! But before you start your Pinterest board, it’s important to make sure that you are choosing the most appropriate type and style of window for your home and the area in which you live. Replacement windows on your home are a huge investment, so let’s make sure we’re getting off on the right foot!
The Window Source of West Texas owner Sandy Nelson sat down with us to share a bit more about why single hung windows are the most practical choice for the residents of West Texas.
First, does the Window Source of West Texas offer a variety of window types?
Yes! The Window Source of West Texas has a broad variety of window types and styles. Outside of ensuring the process goes smoothly from the estimate to installation, it is very important to our entire team that we help bring the vision of your home to life and that starts with being able to provide the customer with a wide range of options.
In terms of replacement windows, we offer single hung windows, double hung windows, sliding windows, casement windows, bay windows, bow windows, garden windows and basement hopper windows.
Why are single hung windows the best choice?
As everyone knows, West Texas gets hot! I mean really hot. Your air conditioner or in-home fans become your absolute best friend during the Spring and Summer months. The absolute worst thing that can happen to your energy bill during this time is for your windows to be leaking that precious cold air out of old cracks and crevices of your windows.
Unlike more “flashy” style of windows, single hung windows only have one part that moves and therefore only one single part of the window that provides opportunity for air to leak out.
Are these windows more expensive than other options?
Again, because these windows are more simple to operate, there are not as many sash’s, or “fancy” parts for lack of a better word. Going this route can oftentimes be the best bang for your buck especially if you are looking to replace a whole house of windows. They are definitely less costly and given that The Window Source of West Texas provides financing options, an entire project can be very affordable.
Are there any upgrade options available?
Absolutely! If you are looking to really take your energy efficiency to the next level you do have the option to upgrade your window glass to LowE/Argon high performance insulated glass. This type of glass has a completely transparent metallic coating that is applied to the surface of the glass and essentially adds another layer of energy efficiency to your windows.
