In honor of International Women’s Day, we wanted to take a moment to acknowledge the woman behind the home improvement company you know and love! Sandy is the ultimate business owner and works hard each and every day to provide the people of Midland and surrounding areas with comfort and security when it comes to home improvement projects.
Hey, y’all! My name is Sandy Nelson and I am the owner of the Window Source of West Texas! I work alongside my sister and the rest of our fabulous team to bring your home improvement visions to life. I have always been a not-so-average girl! I got more excited about buying a new tape measure, vacuum cleaners, and tools more than anything else. I would say when it comes to my personality, people would definitely say I am a funny person (but if you ask my sister, they would probably just say it’s a dork! haha). In my free time, you can usually find me hanging out with my family and friends, working out and honestly…cleaning and crafting! One of the things I love so much about my job is that it allows me to tap into my social butterfly side. I absolutely love getting to know each and every one of my customers and expressing my gratitude to them for their business as often as I can. Another thing I love about my job is that I also get to spend time with my mom and sister every day at my job. Working with family can be tough, but it is all worth it and the bond we have developed through this business is something that could never be replaced. I enjoy learning new things and every day on this job there is something new and different for me to learn that ultimately helps me to provide my customers with the best experience. This International Women’s’ Day, it was extremely important for me to share what it means for me to be a woman working in a predominantly male field. It is extremely meaningful in my heart because I am a woman working in the construction industry, which is, and always has been male-dominated. I’ve come along way from where I started, however, men have developed a respect for me through my knowledge and expertise in this field. My advice to all your ladies out there who have a dream is to go for it! You are capable of so much more than you realize!
