This June House of The Month 2022 edition has us taking a house built in the era of big hair and big disco 1975 and bringing it back to the future. Only, we don’t have the budget for a time-traveling DeLorean—so we do it with our energy efficient windows.
After
Although their home was built pretty solid, with brick and siding, the windows unfortunately were not so great. The previous windows on the home, as with most homes we work on in Midland; were contractor windows. Cheap, thin aluminum frames and single-pane glass that offers zero insulation.
They also decided they needed to do something about their sliding patio doors as well so any patio door leaks didn’t negate the impact of new windows.
We stepped up to the challenge and sent out our installer, Jason to install the following in the Wallace’s home:
- 5 Qty. Single Hung Windows (no grids)
- 4 Qty. 2-lite Sliding Glass Windows
- 2 Qty. 6’ Sliding Patio doors / 6400 Series 3” Sash Rail
It took Jason only 2 days to take their home windows from gloomy to groovy with our best window deal for single hung models. The installation was finished out with a white interior trim complemented on the outside with architectural bronze trim on both doors and windows.
As you can see, the darker bronze trim really contrasts nicely with the gray siding and adds a nice touch of modernity to the home. As far as efficiency, the Wallace’s got a major upgrade with our double pane glass being standard in all of our windows.
